Here is the history of Lippy’s Caddy. It began in 2014 when I became chairman of our annual bus trip to Laughlin, Nevada. We served 52 people on the bus drinks for the entire trip to Laughlin, Nevada, and back.

Can you imagine carrying two drinks at a time to the front of the bus and serving all those people while the bus is moving, while you dared not to spill the drinks? I served all the drinks like that for at least 2 years before I began to think there had to be an easier way to provide the drinks.

So I went to a store and bought a flat metal serving tray and cut eight holes, so a 12-ounce cup would fit, and now I could deliver eight 12-ounce cups to the front of the bus, serving eight people on one trip to the front. That made my trip a lot easier, and I could carry the serving tray with one hand and hold on to the bus railing to stabilize myself and not spill a drop.

Because I needed to hold the tray and have another person fill the 12-ounce cups with ice and refreshments, I figured I needed a base so I could put the tray on a table, and two people could fill the cups with ice and refreshments. I then had an idea of a tray that could hold eight 12-ounce cups with a base and a handle in the center to carry the drinks. I presented my idea to a friend of mine, and he made a prototype. That carry tray was a huge success, and I could still carry eight drinks on the bus with one hand free to serve the drinks and hold on to the bus railing to stabilize myself.

A serving tray like mine would make any establishment that serves drinks more efficient which would translate into increased profits.
